Crooket Billet

After a lorry struck the side of The Crooked Billet in the early hours one morning, causing significant structural damage, we were tasked with removing a large section of the building and rebuilding it. As the pub dates back over 200 years, it was vital to ensure that the restoration was true to its heritage.

To achieve this, we used traditional construction methods, including lime render and plaster, heritage brickwork, and mortar techniques. Reclaimed timber flooring and old oak beams were incorporated, alongside breathable lime paint, timber laths, and traditional timber windows. The project required meticulous attention to detail to preserve the historical integrity of the building.

Despite the scale of the work, we completed the project on time and with minimal disruption to the pub’s operations. The client and their staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to keep the pub running smoothly during the works.

This was a fantastic project to be a part of, and the finished result is a beautiful restoration. The Crooked Billet looks better than ever, and we’re proud to have played a role in bringing it back to life.
